Insured parties up to the age of 18 are entitled to reimbursement of the costs of diagnostics, coordination and registration of bodily material sent in.

Referral required for oncological examination in children
An oncological examination in children requires a referral from a general practitioner, a medical specialist, clinical technologist or a doctor for the mentally disabled.
Reimbursement oncological examination in children
By virtue of the public healthcare insurance, you are entitled to a reimbursement of the costs for oncological examinations in children:

Maximum rates non-contracted care provider
If you are planning on going to a care provider with whom we have not concluded an agreement for an oncological examination for your child, we will apply a maximum reimbursement. In that case, the rates of the rate list for non-contracted care (PDF) apply. If the rates of the non-contracted care provider are higher than our maximum rates, the difference will be for your expense.
No statutory personal contribution
There is no statutory personal contribution for research into cancer in children.
Excess
There is no compulsory or voluntary personal excess for insured parties under the age of 18.
