1. What is orthodontia?

Orthodontia is care of an orthodontic nature such as dentists generally provide. It is a specialist area of dental care. Orthodontia corrects the position of teeth and molars in the jaw. This can be done by means of braces for instance. Dentists and orthodontists can provide this type of care.

If you have a very serious development or growth disorder in your teeth and jaw (teeth/jaw/mouth system), read about the reimbursement of orthodontics in special cases.

2. When do you qualify for reimbursement?

You are entitled to reimbursement of orthodontic treatment if you are younger than 18 and have taken out dental insurance.

3. Referral required for orthodontia

For the care provided by an orthodontist you need a referral from a dentist.

4. Reimbursement orthodontia in 2019

By virtue of the dental insurance, an insured up to the age of 18 is entitled to a reimbursement of the costs of orthodontia. If you have a very serious development or growth disorder in your teeth and jaw (teeth/jaw/mouth system), read about the reimbursement of orthodontics in special cases.
