Changes in your HollandZorg health insurance for 2026
Changes to the public health insurance
More support for quitting smoking
Reimbursement of a quit-smoking programme maximum three times per calendar year from the public health insurance. This supplement is intended to help more smokers quit, considering that it often takes several attempts and supervision increases the chance of success.
No compulsory excess for walking training supervised by a physiotherapist of remedial therapist for intermittent claudication
Insured persons of HollandZorg do not pay a statutory compulsory excess for walking training supervised by a physiotherapist or remedial therapist for intermittent claudication.
No compulsory excess for fall prevention
Insured persons of HollandZorg do not pay a statutory compulsory excess for fall prevention.
Extra reimbursement for people with axSpA
Physiotherapy and remedial therapy for adults with axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA) and serious functional impairments are reimbursed from the public health insurance package from the first treatment instead of receiving a temporary reimbursement from the 21st treatment.
No compulsory excess for a collegial consultation and collegial advice
During a collegial consultation, your general practitioner looks at your situation together with another healthcare provider. You are also present during this meeting. In the case of collegial advice, another healthcare provider discusses your situation with your general practitioner, but you are not present. The aim is for you to get the right care more quickly. From 2026, you will therefore no longer pay a compulsory excess for a collegial consultation and collegial advice.
Indexation of statutory personal contribution
The statutory personal contribution for maternity care without a medical indication, obstetric care, patient transport, overnight stays and aids is indexed. The statutory personal contribution is determined by the government. The reimbursement overview and policy conditions tell you the amount of this contribution per type of care.
Adjustment of maximum rates for Zvw-pgb
The maximum rates for a personal budget ("pgb") under the Zvw have been adjusted. The rates are set out in the Healthcare Insurance Personal Budget Regulations. There is no right to reimbursement via the personal budget for costs of tasks as an employer or client.
Amended principles for the Medical care for specific patient groups (GZSP)
The care provider must deliver the care in compliance with the GZSP Principles. You can view and download these principles at www.hollandzorg.nl/voorwaarden. Do you wish to use the care from a care provider with whom we have not concluded a contract? In that case, the reimbursement may be lower than the amount charged by the care provider. The maximum reimbursements can be found on the rates lists for non-contracted care at www.hollandzorg.nl/rates. Contracted care providers are listed at https://hollandzorg.z-zoeker.nl/.
Changes to supplementary and dental insurance policies
Regular dental check-ups receive 100% reimbursement
The dental insurance packages Extra and Plus provide 100% reimbursement for regular check-ups instead of 75%. The reimbursement for other treatments remains 75% up to a maximum €250 (Extra) or €500 (Plus) per calendar year. The total maximum reimbursement applies to consultations and other treatments together.
Contraception from the age of 21 100% reimbursement
The supplementary insurance packages Start and Extra offer 100% reimbursement for the costs of contraception. The policy conditions explain what aids are covered.
Sterilisation also reimbursed from supplementary insurance Plus
The supplementary insurance Plus reimburses sterilisation of fallopian tubes and a vasectomy. 100% for a contracted care provider, for a non-contracted care provider maximum €300 for a vasectomy and maximum €1,000 for fallopian tubes.
Care and advice for hormonal fluctuations
There is extensive cover for care relating to specific women’s healthcare issues. This previously came under the heading Other healthcare. In the supplementary insurance packages Extra and Plus, in 2026 we will reimburse €250, €450 and €600 respectively per calendar year for consultations, lifestyle advice and support to address hormonal issues like menstruation problems and the menopause.
General changes
Faster payment of claims
With effect from 1 January 2026, we will pay claims within 3 working days instead of 5.
Faster complaint handling
We will handle complaints within 4 weeks instead of 6 weeks.
Limitation for care provided by yourself or a family member
In principle, there is no longer a right to (reimbursement of costs of) care provided by yourself or by family members. This right only remains in exceptional cases. For example, in the case of a Healthcare Insurance Personal Budget or if we have given you permission.
