Reimbursements
The travel expenses may consist of the cost of fuel (petrol), public transport or taxi costs.
Who qualifies for reimbursement?
The following conditions apply to the reimbursement of travel expenses incurred by direct family members when visiting you:
- The visiting family member lives at the same address as you and is also insured at HollandZorg
- You have been admitted to a Dutch hospital for more than 14 consecutive days. The right to reimbursement will commence on the 15th consecutive day of admittance
- You are receiving care that will be (at least partly) reimbursed under the basic health plan.
The distance between your home address and the hospital will be a minimum of 40 kilometres. We will calculate the number of kilometres based on the fastest route according to the ANWB route planner.
Reimbursement for travel expenses incurred visiting a patient

Personal contribution
We will reimburse € 0,37 per kilometre to a maximum of € 300 per calendar year. Will you incur costs that are higher than our maximum reimbursement? Then you will have to pay the difference yourself.
Compulsory excess
There will be no policy excess for reimbursement under the supplementary insurance.
Who can provide this type of care?
You will be able to use your own car or a taxi or public transport.Please note:

Maximum rates for a non-contracted care provider
Have you chosen a healthcare provider with whom we have no contract? Then, we will reimburse according to our maximum rates. If the rate invoiced by the non-contracted care provider is higher than our maximum rates, you will have to pay the difference yourself. You will be able to find contracted care providers with our Care finder.
